1989 Landrover Defender 90 Soft Top

 

Correctly registered on the v5 as a 5.9 Cummins.

Professionally painted in Audi Nado Grey completed in June 2023

Engine gearbox & running gear:-

The 5.9ltr six cylinder engine has just had a full service with new oils, filters & belt. 

The low mileage engine (70k miles approx) is mated to a 5 speed spicer gearbox, with a custom conversion plate to the transfer box which is believed to be a heavy duty Reece Myers box along with custom built heavy duty prop shafts. Custom made straight through stainless steel exhaust. New radiator with adjustable thermostatically controlled electric fan. 

Chassis and running gear:-

Converted to a cummins engine and mated to a galvanised chassis by the previous owner. The vehicle had the suspension up rated along with Salisbury axles to the front and rear. The rear axle was refurbished. 

The vehicle also has air over hydraulic master cylinder. The master cylinder has just under gone a full refurbishment. The front discs are 300mm drilled and grooved front discs and 4 pot callipers. The rear is on large drums. The car sits on gloss black modular steel rims with 35” mud terrains. The handbrake and clutch are both air assisted.

Sitting on the rear of the chassis are two air tanks and an air drier with an air take off fitting, ideal for inflating tyres etc. 

Both the starter motor and alternator have been converted to 12v electrics. There is also a galvanised towing hitch with 13 pin electrics.
